Dr. Ferdous Sarwar received his B.Sc. (summa cum laude) and M.Sc. in Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE) from BUET and Ph.D. in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering (IME) from North Dakota State University (NDSU), USA. He is a Professor of Industrial and Production Engineering at BUET. His research interest includes Industry 4.0, Nature-inspired Algorithms, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Manufacturing. His research outcome resulted in a patent titled “Selective laser-assisted transfer of discrete components” that was issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (Patent No. US9862141B2, Date of publication: 2018-01-09). He is a Member of the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (IMAPS), the Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA), and the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE).
