The Department of Accounting & Information Systems (AIS) at the University of Dhaka is the premier accounting school in Bangladesh, established in 1970 within the Faculty of Business Studies. It is universally recognized for producing top-tier chartered accountants, corporate CFOs, and financial scholars. The department offers BBA and MBA programs in Accounting & Information Systems, alongside professional evening programs, M.Phil., and Ph.D. tracks. Its curriculum integrates financial accounting, forensic auditing, managerial cost analysis, taxation, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and computational accounting software. AIS graduates hold leadership positions in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), the Comptroller and Auditor General's office, and multinational auditing conglomerates.
