About
The Institute of Education and Research (IER) at the University of Dhaka, established in 1959 in collaboration with USAID and Indiana University, is the premier apex institute for educational leadership, teacher education, curriculum development, and pedagogical research in Bangladesh. IER offers comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate programs including the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed. Honours), Master of Education (M.Ed.), M.Phil., and Ph.D. Specializations cover curriculum and instructional technology, educational administration, special education, educational psychology, and educational evaluation and research. IER plays an irreplaceable role in authoring national primary and secondary curricula, textbook development with NCTB, training teacher educators, and spearheading national educational policy reforms. Its scholarly journals and policy research shape educational development initiatives across Bangladesh.
